Membership ~ Our Greatest AssetOne of SSCC’s greatest strengths is the diversity of its membership. Our members possess a wide range of talents and interests, each with something different — and often unique — to contribute. The Society needs and welcomes all of these abilities and interests. Membership in the Society means something different to each person: satisfying a passion for history or genealogy and for sharing family backgrounds; the cultural richness of Scottish music, dance, literature, or perhaps Erse, the Scots Gaelic tongue. There's the colorful, often tragic history of Dalriada ~ ancient Scotland ~ the great battles and many military heroes; or maybe it's engaging in the many Scottish/Celtic crafts — knitting, weaving and other artistic formats — or hearty Highland fare. For the highly-social, it could be the wide variety of people and activities at the dozens of Scottish games & gatherings held throughout North America — meeting the Clans and being part of our Scottish traditions. Of course, there's always the "water of life" known to the non-Scot world as Scotch ... Membership applications can be downloaded and mailed to our membership chair, or you can sign up Online and begin your association with your fellow American Scots. Whatever your passion, pursue it through your Scottish Society membership. Please join us. Aye! Contact Membership Director Robert Curington at 559-891-7571 or curingtonrw@comcast.net, or any member of the SSCC Board of Governors, for further information and a membership application. There is always information at any SSCC general membership meeting or event. |
