Don Reid, Sr. Memorial Blood Drive

8-12 September 2008, Monday - Friday
Scots Unite to Save Lives
Give the gift of life.  Give blood.

The Scottish Society of Central California in cooperation with the Central California Blood Center is sponsoring its annual blood drive.  The blood drive is a special tribute to long-time Scottish Society member and Past Chief, Mr. Don Reid, Sr. of Fresno, who passed away after a four-year battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome, a blood disease in which the bone marrow stops producing red blood cells.  Mr. Reid depended almost entirely on the good will of blood donors in the Central Valley, using four units of blood every three weeks.  Blood donated in the Society’s Reid Blood Drive will be available for general public use.

 Blood Center locations:

  • Fresno Donor Center (Main Office),  3445 N. First St., Fresno,  559-224-2900

  • North Fresno Donor Center,  8094 N. Cedar Ave, Fresno,  559-324-1211

  • Visalia Donor Center,  1515 S. Mooney Blvd., Visalia,  559-625-3121

  • Most medications are acceptable, but to be safe bring a list of the medications that you are currently taking and what they are prescribed for.
